Stay Safe With Telehealth Visits
Telehealth visits allow you to connect with your doctor online from the safety and comfort of your home. Telehealth visits mean observing physical distancing and maintaining good health.
All you need to participate in a telehealth visit is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and access to your patient portal.
To find out if your doctor participates in telehealth services, call MDX Hawai‘i COVID-19 hotline at (808) 650-2717 or toll-free (877) 544-0777, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
Prior Authorization Update
On March 13, 2020, the President of the United States issued a national state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. New rules will be implemented starting on the date of emergency declaration through the end date of the emergency declaration.
Eligible MDX Hawai‘i Medicare Advantage members will have the following prior authorization rules apply to them:
- For HMO members, no specialty referral request is required to see a specialist for a covered service. After the emergency declaration has ended, please ensure that ongoing care with either a contracted or non-contracted provider has been approved.
- For all Medicare Advantage members, no prior authorization is required to use a non-contracted facility.
- The out-of-network copay will be reduced to an in-network copay rate.
